Where to Stay in General Nakar: Tropikana Beach Resort

Share this:

General Nakar is one of the best destinations in the country when it comes to taking a well-reserved break. And what better place to stay than a relaxing beach resort? Tropikana Beach Resort is one of the more modern resorts in General Nakar, located along the long coastline in Barangay Pamplona.

I stayed here for a night with other content creators during the Gapo at Palusong Festival 2023. Here’s a review of Tropikana Beach Resort in General Nakar.

Our stay at Tropikana Beach Resort

Established in 2020, Tropikana Beach Resort is a tropical-themed beach resort with modern facilities: including airconditioned rooms, an in-house restaurant and a pop-up bar, a swimming pool, and outdoor cottages. It’s also a short walk to the beachfront.

Offering ease and convenience, it’s ideal for families and those who want to take a break in this beautiful town while enjoying modern comforts.

Our room

We stayed in a family room. It has 2 twin beds and 1 bunk bed, a private bathroom (no hot shower), and amenities like a large cabinet, a flat-screen TV, and a mini-refrigerator.

The room was comfortable and had a lot of space for our luggages. We had minor issue with the weak airconditioning, but the staff was prompt in addressing this issue and they provided two electric fans so we were able to sleep well that night. There are also no complimentary toiletries aside from a soap and mouthwash packets, so make sure to bring your own.

Tropikana Beach Resort has a total of nine rooms: three family rooms and six studio rooms. The studio room is good for couples. There is also a penthouse room located on the rooftop, which has its own balcony offering a pleasant view of the coastline. We visited the penthouse room and I think it’s a great option for couples.

Resort Facilities

Tropikana Beach Resort has its own swimming pool, which is 9 feet deep. It is designed that way so guests can swim properly and have fun. Of course it’s possible to let children swim here as well as long as they have inflatables or life vests.

Unfortunately we didn’t have much free time to enjoy the pool — but we managed to take nice photos of it.

The resort is a short walk from the beach. The beach is usually calm and shallow — perfect for those with kids. It’s also a nice place to sit down, breathe, and watch sunset. On good days, you can rent a kayak from the resort to enjoy the ocean.

As Tropikana Beach Resort offers full services, it also has an open-air restaurant where you can enjoy good food and even book a private event. In fact, one of the best things about staying at Tropikana Beach Resort is the food — but don’t just take my word for it, you have to try it for yourself!

For dinner, we had delicious creamy pasta with shrimp, garlic buttered shrimp, and chicken barbecue. We had glasses of red wine to cap off the buffet. Our breakfast the next morning was equally amazing (I was still sleepy so I wasn’t able to take photos).

I notice that the dishes they offer cater to tourists, so if you want a safe (and delicious) menu, you’ll definitely love the food here. If you’re looking for local delicacies, there are eateries in town you can visit.

Overall

Tropikana Beach Resort is one of the best accommodations we’ve stayed at in General Nakar, Quezon. Although we were only here for overnight, we were impressed with the facilities, service, and great food.

Personally, I like its location as it is secluded and perfect for getting away or just having a quiet vacation with your family or loved ones.
