Las Caidas Wellness Resort Just Launched Three New Pool Villas — And They’re Everything You’ve Been Waiting For

Nestled in the forested highlands of Cavinti, Laguna, Las Caidas Wellness Resort is undeniably one of the province’s best-kept secrets. Opened to the public post-pandemic, this place features cool mountain air, cascading waterfalls, a restaurant and café offering healthy local delicacies, and spa and wellness treatments that converge into something truly ordinary.

Now, the resort has just launched three new private pool villas — the perfect spot for guests looking for a luxury staycation in the mountains.

Why makes Las Caidas Wellness Resort special?

Cavinti has long been known as the eco-tourism capital of the Philippines. While most of the municipality’s attractions include rugged adventures (such as shooting the rapids to Pagsanjan Falls) and glamping locations, Las Caidas Wellness Resort offers a luxurious sanctuary where you can stop for a while to breathe and relax.

Romel Diaz, the owner of Las Caidas Wellness Resort, had modest beginnings in mind. He simply wanted a private farm to retire to. What emerged instead was a space for holistic wellness, where guests can feel the relaxing ambiance the moment they set foot on the property.

Each structure on the property blends modern design with the surrounding natural environment. Day trippers can dine in at BuenApetito Restaurante or Café Cielo and enjoy the view of the waterfalls. Stone pathways and open-air cottages are laid out for a nice stroll. A spa with mountain view, yoga hall, infrared sauna, and kawa hot baths decorated with fresh flower petals offer guests a chance to heal, unwind, and let go of mental stress.

It’s also worth nothing that the resort is recognized by the Global Wellness Institute, a prestigious distinction that underscores its genuine dedication to holistic well-being rather than surface-level spa amenities.

All of these — including the cool climate in Cavinti — makes you understand why this is a place where guests keep coming back.

Introducing three new pool villas

This March, Las Caidas Wellness Resort launched its three new pool villas — Villa Serenidad, Villa Cascada, and Villa Montana.

The villas are designed with a two-storey layout that separates living and sleeping spaces. The ground floor features the dining area and living room, with sliding glass doors that open into its own private heated pool. This makes it easy to transition from a lazy afternoon in the couch to warm water, where you can get a view of the mountains beyond. The setup makes it difficult to leave, and that’s exactly the point.

Upstairs, the bedrooms open two verandas: a front-facing veranda with views of the resort ground and Mount Banahaw and a rear-facing veranda that looks directly out over the pool. Whichever direction you face, there’s something beautiful to wake up to.

For groups, the villa is entirely comfortable. There is a ground-floor bathroom complete with a bath tub and a closet filled with bath robes and towels, and another bathroom with shower is also available upstairs.

Each villa also comes with a dedicated butler. Guests don’t need to leave the villa for meals. Food from BuenApetito Restaurante can be brought directly to the villa and served in the dining area. An overnight package also comes with free breakfast.

What it’s actually like to stay in one of the villas

It is my second time here in Las Caidas Wellness Resort. I visited here with the local tourism in 2023 and then stayed in Villa Montana during their official launch of the three villas.

There is a reason that this is one of my favorite places in Cavinti — it is everything that you could ask for in a wellness retreat: a great location in a forested mountain, well-designed facilities that feature Filipino design, good food, and various wellness services, depending on what your body needs.

I absolutely love the villas. The three villas essentially share the same foundational design — two floors, private heated pools, in-villa dining — but each has its own personality. Villa Cascada and Villa Serenidad feature infinity pools that open directly to the surrounding nature, while Villa Montana offers a more intimate, sheltered feel with its bamboo-fenced pool area.

The amenities are luxurious and well thought-out. Their overnight packages are on the premium end. But for what’s included, they offer genuine value for the right occasion, whether it’s a long overdue escape, a milestone anniversary, or a honeymoon.

Of the experiences Las Caidas has to offer, one that I would say is an absolute must-try is the kawa hot bath. Rooted in Filipino tradition, the kawa is a massive iron cauldron used as a soaking tub, filled with warm water and fresh tropical flowers. Sink in, let the heat do its work, and let your mind wander away as you are surrounded by the soaked flowers and greenery.

We followed up the kawa hot bath with a half-hour back massage in their spa. As someone who regularly gets massages, I can say that their therapists were top-notch and they managed to hit the right spots.

Another activity that we managed to squeeze into our itinerary is a visit to Usong Falls, which is a 15-minute trek from the resort. The trek is relatively easy, but the downhill trail makes the climb back up quite tiring.

However, the payoff is a waterfall that, like the rest of the resort, feels like a well-kept secret — uncrowded, unhurried, and breathtakingly serene. Even though it is close, it feels like an off-grid adventure as the waterfall is not pinned in Google Maps. But worry not, a staff will guide you toward this secret spot.

During both of my visits, the kitchen at Las Caidas delivered, not only in flavor but also in its commitment to authentic regional cuisine. I particularly enjoyed chicken binakol and Sulu chicken with pyanggang sauce, capped off with a cup of hot tsokolate.

In my opinion, if you are looking for a wellness destination that offers everything in one place — soulful dishes, good rooms, and a variety of spa and wellness treatments — then Las Caidas is one of the places that you should include in your list.

More to come at Las Caidas

The launch of Las Caidas Wellness Resort’s three new private pool villas marks an exciting new chapter for one of the country’s most genuinely restorative destinations. Other developments are planned underway, including a multi-purpose hall that can accommodate up to 200 people, farm-to-plate dining, and other activities to nearby attractions in Cavinti.

Currently, Las Caidas Wellness Resort offers the following:

  • Tranquila Wellness Sanctuary — Spa treatments rooted in native botanicals and traditional Filipino healing techniques
  • BuenApetito Restaurante — In-house restaurant where Filipino culinary heritage meets global flavors in an al fresco setting
  • Café Cielo — A hilltop coffee experience with panoramic mountain views
  • Other amenities including yoga and meditation pavilion, infrared sauna, and kawa hot baths (with individual and group-sized kawas)
  • Guided hiking trail to Usong Falls
