During our visit, we get to experience the style and comfort offered by Savoy Hotel Manila. This is our second time at the hotel, and we were still impressed with the amenities at their Suite. We love the spacious areas, comfortable bed and sofa, and view of the runway and the skyline of the metro.

Moreover, it’s walking distance to the Newport Mall, so you can explore, shop, and dine during your stay.

Savoy Hotel Manila is primarily known as an airport hotel, but it’s perfectly designed as a staycation hotel too! It’s the perfect place indeed to welcome the Chinese New Year with family or significant someone.

Delicious Chinese Food

A Chinese New Year wouldn’t be complete without enjoying classic Chinese cuisine. Head to the Savoy Cafe for your share of noodles (a traditional recipe for long life), dimsum, and dumplings — now part of the daily menu.

Choices for the noodles include: Nanking Beef Stew Noodle Soup, Stir-Fried Nanking Beef Noodles, Stir-Fried Soy Chicken Noodles, Soy Chicken Noodle Soup, and Stir-Fried Bam-I Noodles. For the dimsum delights: Pork & Shrimp Siomai, Steamed Chicken Feet, and Cheung Fun Rice Rolls.

We liked the Nanking Beef Stew Noodle Soup for its deep, delicious flavor, while we recommend the Soy Chicken Noodle Soup for its light, comforting broth. The dimsums were all good as well, though our favorite is without a doubt their firm, moist, and delicious plate of siomai.

We also ordered some of their classic offers, such as braised beef shanks and the Filipino favorite halo-halo.

Celebrate with a Dragon Dance and a Feast

There’s no need to venture to a crowded streets to see a live dragon dance performance. On January 29, the hotel will present a captivating Dragon & Lion Dance performance at 10:08 AM in the hotel lobby.

A dragon & lion dance is believed to bring good luck, prosperity, and festive energy. Not only that, it’s an engaging cultural performance that will light up both kids and adults alike.

After the performance, head to Savoy Cafe for the Chinese New Year Lunch Buffet and take in life-long noodles and other classics.

We’ve been to their Delightful Weekend Buffet, which are decorated with lively dragons and red lanterns. What we liked about them is the relaxed ambiance especially compared to other buffet places, the pleasant live music performance, and the food — which the servers always refill fast!

The buffet is worth having, so we have high regards for the coming Chinese New Year Lunch Buffet as well.
