My Experience with Luminisce

As part of their launch, media and content creators were given treatments depending on their skin condition and preferences.

I’m actually a perfect candidate for this because I have acne scars and red spots, due to years of suffering from cystic acne caused by hormonal imbalance.

First: Consultation with one of the doctors at Luminisce. I told them that I want a treatment specifically for my acne scars and also that I’ve already done several treatments in the past, including a subcision. Since I’ve already undergone subcision, the doctor advised me to get a Belotero Advance HA fillers to lift up the depressed areas.

Second: Facial analysis. Luminisce uses an advanced facial analysis that analyzes your skin condition, including skin age and problem areas. (I just found that my skin age is 37, so I definitely need to amp up my skincare routine!)

Third: Treatment. We started with facial cleansing and then application of topical anesthesia. Then another doctor came in to inject the HA fillers on my scars, which by the way are a lot. I’m not gonna lie, even with the anesthesia it still hurt a bit — I guess it depends on your pain tolerance as well.

The dermatologists said that the full effect of the HA fillers can be seen 2-3 weeks after treatment. I’m so excited to find out how it looks then!

Update 1: After the HA filler treatment, my face was still red for 2-3 days, after which it returned to normal. After 2 weeks, I can definitely see an improvement in the scars. They look way more shallow compared to before the treatment. HA fillers are temporary, but they do stimulate collagen production that will also help long term.

Update 2: After a few weeks, I went back to the clinic for a Dermablate laser treatment to reduce scarring. Accordingly, this is better than CO2 laser treatment, which is the gold standard. The staff was very meticulous, the procedure itself was more painful than CO2 but in general I was very happy with how it went. I only had one procedure thus far — usually more than one treatment is necessary to see the full effects.
