Share this:

If you’re reading this, I am going to assume that you’re an avid coffee lover. Like you, I enjoy having a rich full-bodied cup of coffee especially in the morning as it helps me feel awake to start the day.

When it comes to brewing coffee, the French press is a favorite method for many. Among the myriad options available nowadays, the FinalPress French Press is one that you should consider buying.

What is the FinalPress French Press

The FinalPress French Press is a portable French press perfect for single personal use, such as in office, trips, and even camping.

To use it, you only need to stir for 10 seconds and then press the plunger to release more coffee flavor. Super easy, right?

A fun trivia about the FinalPress French Press: it started as a $1.5M Kickstarter project, with the aim to make coffee and tea anywhere with a patented plunger mechanism. So far, it is considered the most successful coffee campaign ever.

FinalPress features

A package of a FinalPress French Press includes the following:

  • Mason jar lid for cold brew
  • 200-micron filter
  • Plunger
  • Carrying sleeve

The FinalPress uses a 3-in-1 patent technology for making coffee, tea, and cold brew. It is pocket sized and lightweight and made of 100% stainless steel. It is eco-friendly as it doesn’t use coffee filters, capsules, or even coffee/tea bags.

How to use the FinalPress French Press

Here’s a detailed guide on how to use the FinalPress French Press.

  1. Put 12 grams (2-3 tbsp) of coffee grounds. (Recommended grind size: fine to medium)
  2. Screw the filter back onto the plunger.
  3. Put into a cup and slowly add hot water.
  4. Slowly stir it around 20 times. (Hold from top yellow part as lower parts may be hot)
  5. Leave for 2 minutes and then stir 20 more times for a strong cup of coffee.
  6. Press the plunger a few times to release rich flavor. (Repeat stirring and pressing if needed)

For a cold brew, add room temperature water to the jar, tighten the lid through FinalPress and refrigerate overnight. Sitr and press the plunger before drinking.

FinalPress Review

I personally like the FinalPress French Press.

First of all, I think it looks really cool — a shiny, new gadget to add to the kitchen.

Second, it’s a great item for making a decent cup of coffee. It is small and portable, so you can take it with you to the office or even during trips, unlike other bulky coffee makers. The package also comes with cover for the filter to keep it clean while not in use.

Third, it’s easy to clean. Just rinse the filter in the sink. Moreover, compared to using coffee or tea bags, there are no wastes left so it’s ideal for those conscious about zero-waste efforts.

In terms of quality, it makes a fair cup of coffee. I read reviews of the FinalPress and it is often compared to similar coffee making products. One of the common sentiments is that the resulting brew isn’t as strong. For me and my boyfriend who have tried it together, it was fine (Disclaimer: I like medium strength in flavor). In my opinion, the flavor is good as long as you take the time to swirl and plunge.

If you’re someone who simply wants a portable French press that you can take anywhere for a decent cup of coffee, this will do the trick. On the other hand, if you drink more than a cup a day, then a regular French press might be better for you.

Overall, the FinalPress French press is a portable travel piece worth giving a try, especially if you’re a coffee enthusiast. It also makes for a great gift to office mates, family, or friends who love good-quality coffee or tea.
