Emgrand Spa: De-stress with a Buffet and Spa Treatment Combo
We know how stressful it can be to live in the metro—dealing with the traffic, crowd, rent and every other bill to pay, the list goes on. Which is why it’s important to de-stress and pamper yourself every now and then. Our newest pampering and wellness spot? Emgrand Spa.
Located in Aseana City, Paranaque (about 15-20 minutes from NAIA Airport), Emgrand Spa is a newly opened wellness haven that offers delicious buffet, various spa treatments, and other interesting activities. A once-exclusive facility, the six-story spa is now open 24/7 for those who want to spend a full day of pampering with friends or family or even travelers who want a pre- or post-flight recharge.

A Day at Emgrand Spa
Our group visited here on a weekend late afternoon. After we have registered, we were given slippers and then directed to the 3rd floor to change into a comfortable set of loose shirt and shorts.
3rd Floor: Pools, Sauna, Etc.
The 3rd floor is where you’ll find spacious lockers, shower areas complete with essentials like body wash and shampoo/conditioner, two heated pools, cold baths, and wet sauna—basically everything you need to get you in the zen zone.
I was impressed with how high-end everything looks. For privacy concerns though, phones are not allowed in this area. You need to either tuck them in your pocket or leave them in your locker. For the same reason, there are separate facilities for men and women.

If you are like me who’s not familiar with this setting, it can be a bit awkward. It’s a good thing that the staff there was helpful—they have approached me every time I looked lost. Here’s what I learned: If you want to go to the pools, you need to leave your clothes in the locker and then wear the disposable underwear and towel that the staff will give you. You also need to shower first.
The best thing about this area is the two heated pools, which has different temperatures. One is comfortably warm, in my opinion (similar to most hot spring resorts), and the other is for those who prefer it hot, hot, hot.
Soaking in the hot pool was relaxing. I think this would be a good day out with my sisters or girl friends.
2nd Floor: Dining
Ah, now we’re getting to the good part. On the second floor is their buffet restaurant, which features a spread of Filipino and Chinese flavors. Here you can dig into fresh fruits, various dishes—from local favorites to exotic dishes like spicy bullfrog—different soups and congees, dimsum, roasted meats and vegetables, fresh sushi and sashimi, and a solid lineup of desserts and pastries.

I am not the biggest fan of Chinese food, but I realize now that that is probably because I’m mostly exposed to fast food. I loved the food here at Emgrand Spa! So many spices and flavors. Even their chicken soup, prepared with roots, has more depth in flavor than normally served elsewhere.

Once you’ve had your fill, you can get different types of coffee from the coffee machine. Teas and other beverages can be ordered separately.
Aside from the good food, another thing that I appreciate is that the staff, again, is helpful towards us. One staff followed us with a cart as were choosing and picking food, so we didn’t have to go back and forth with the plates. It’s these tiny details that really made the experience better.
6th Floor: Lounge and Activity Areas
The 6th floor is where you can the “Pigeon Nest,” a lounge area with bean bags and rooms for lounging.
If you want to experience more than spa vibes, this floor also offers various leisure activities including an indoor playground for kids, an arcade room complete with billiards and karaoke booths, an indoor golf, a cinema, and other lounge areas where you can take a nap or have a massage.
Take note that most of these are not part of the entrance package, so prepare extra money if you want to avail of these activities.

We availed of their 30-minute dry pinch massage, which can be done in either the cinema or other lounge rooms (we chose the latter). I chose a back massage. I am used to the usual Swedish-Shiatsu combination massage, and so having a dry pinch massage felt a bit intense—especially since it is mostly about stimulating pressure points. If you like hard presses, this is ideal for you. Otherwise, I suggest getting their 1-hour massage instead, which uses oil and also comes with a private room.
Overall
After about 5 hours of stay, I felt super full and relaxed (physically and mentally as well). I love the idea of a place offering a combination of buffet and spa treatments—it’s my idea of pampering one’s self.
Emgrand Spa is truly a one-stop wellness destination for those who want a quick escape from the daily grind or even a full-day treat, whether that’s solo or with friends or family.
