Where to stay in Cagayan de Oro: Seda Centrio Hotel
I stayed at Seda Centrio Hotel in Cagayan de Oro (CDO) for 2 nights, since I was asked to cover the 5th Regional Travel Fair. I was really impressed with the hotel so I decided to do a feature about it. If you’re looking for a great hotel in CDO, you’re looking at the right place.

My stay at Seda Centrio Hotel
Location
Seda Centrio Hotel is located in the downtown area of Cagayan de Oro, close to important landmarks. It’s an hour away from Laguindingan Airport, beside Centrio Mall and walking distance from local markets so convenience is just at your tips. It’s just 20 minutes away from the Cagayan River white water rafting and waterfall trekking attractions.
The first floor of the hotel is literally just the welcome area. You have to take the elevator to the 4th floor where the reception area, restaurant, and swimming pool is located.
When I first got inside, I thought it was just a mid-quality hotel, but my impression changed when I got into the reception area. It was spacious, with comfy sofas and warm lighting that gives it a sosyal feel.
My room
I had a Club Room which features a king-sized bed and amenities such as 40-inch HDTV TV with cable, a safety lock, and coffee/tea-making appliances. There’s also disposable slippers, robes, and of course complimentary bath items.
One of the best things about my room is I have a nice window view of the pool below!
It’s also cool inside. I could turn off the aircon at night and I’d still sleep well.
Minor issue: The bathroom tends to flood when the shower is on because the floor is almost flat, so you have to properly close the shower stall door. This is something I learned about on the first day.
Swimming Pools
They have swimming pools for adults and children, which are open from morning until 10PM at night.
I didn’t have the time to swim since I’d get back tired or sleepy after our events, but I enjoyed looking at the pool from my room.
Misto Restaurant
My accommodation comes with complimentary breakfast buffet in their in-house restaurant called Misto Restaurant. The breakfast buffet is one of the best features of Seda Centrio Hotel. In fact, this elevated my experience from good to great.
The breakfast buffet includes usual breakfast items such as eggs benedict and bacon, Filipino viands, pasta/noodles, porridge and champorado, bread and pastries, and salads. During my stay, there was also an omelette bar, although it wasn’t set up on my 3rd day there so I’m not sure if it’s a regular section.
Their menu changes every day. On different days I had beef bolognese, palabok, and an oh-so-yummy mac n’ cheese.
Again, I love their breakfast buffet. A lot of hotels offer breakfast buffet but oftentimes the food is just average. Seda Centrio Hotel stands out in that the food has good taste and variety. Service is also great. You can even ask for your coffee to be served in a take-out cup!
Aside from the the breakfast buffet, the restaurant is also open for ala carte meals for lunch/dinner. It also has a bar where you can enjoy happy hour from 7PM to 9PM.
Final thoughts
Overall, Seda Centrio Hotel is one of the best hotels you can stay at in CDO. It’s ideal for friends, families, and even business travelers. Price-wise, their rooms start at P4000 above which is reasonable given the quality of their facilities and service. Next time you’re in CDO, make sure to consider booking your stay here!
