GC’s Farmhouse: French-Inspired Staycation in Silang, Cavite
It’s the peak of summer, and you know what that means — family outings and get-togethers! Recently, we’ve discovered a private resort in Silang, Cavite, that is perfect for large groups. GC’s Farmhouse is a French-inspired staycation featuring a 2-storey house and a swimming pool.
Here’s our experience staying at GC’s Farmhouse.
Our stay at GC’s Farmhouse
My boyfriend Hali and I drove from Alabang to GC’s Farmhouse in Silang, Cavite, for less than an hour. The road going inside the compound is a short rough road and only one-way, but other than that we had no other issues.
GC’s Farmhouse is one of those places that photos simply cannot do justice. From what I’ve seen online, I was expecting a regular house, but when we stepped inside, I was blown away by the interiors. There is so much detail, from the floor tiles to the decorative displays and the unique nooks and crannies. It actually feels like someone’s home rather than a rental.
The house is spacious and has six bedrooms in total — one bedroom in the first floor, and the rest on the second floor; the last room is available for an additional cost. Only one bedroom has an en suite bathroom, and the others have shared bathrooms. Each bedroom is uniquely designed, with king-sized beds and mattresses. I love some of the quirky bed sheets used. We stayed in the master bedroom, which is connected to the outdoor corridor where you can see the swimming pool below.
The bathroom beside the master’s bedroom is exquisite, with dark-green walls and a brass rounded mirror. I feel like if I were a better photographer, I could use this spot for some photo-op.
After settling down our bags, we explored the rest of the house. It has a high-ceiling living room that opens up to the pool area. The sofa seats were plush and comfortable — actually, I could say the same about the other seats in the house.
There is also an indoor and outdoor dining area, a complete kitchen, and a dirty kitchen. I like that the kitchen is fitted with everything you need, including plates and utensils. I’m getting tired of private resorts where you need to bring your own. I understand that it was a necessity during the height of the COVID pandemic, but as we’re easing our way back to normalcy, I feel like it’s time to offer complete items to guests.
Outside is a large grassy area where events or other outdoor activities can be held, a gazebo, and a hammock. GC’s Farmhouse happens to be a popular events venue in Cavite!
And now let’s get to the highlight of our stay — the heated swimming pool! It was nice soaking in a warm pool. Of course, it isn’t as hot as the hot springs in Pansol, but with places like Silang where the air is cool even during the summer, it really makes a difference. It also makes night swimming more enjoyable.
We took out our inflatable flamingo and swam. There are little jets that’s really fun and can even give you a hard-pressure back massage.
Afterwards, we heated up our dinner (rice and pork BBQ, plus a box of strawberries that I got from RuRi) and ate inside. We then went outside the pool at night to chill and to the hammock for a short nap. Then we called the caretaker to start the fire in the bonfire area. Unfortunately we didn’t bring anything to cook in the fire, but we did enjoy staying there for a bit.
We ended the night at the TV room. Again, the sofas were so soft that Hali fell asleep midway into the movie. Lol.
Overall, we highly enjoyed our stay at GC’s Farmhouse in Cavite. We had a minor issue when the neighboring resort blasted videoke throughout the night, but the caretaker said the noise could’ve been minimized if we had closed the windows (which we left open). So I guess that’s one thing that future visitors should take note of.
Other than that, our experience was highly pleasant. The place was nicely decorated, with complete amenities and more. The heated swimming pool is a nice touch, as it’s rare to find a place that offers it in Cavite. Additionally, there were a lot of leisure activities that we weren’t able to do as we were only there for a night. For instance, the next morning we had discovered the bikes, and as Hali and I are recently getting into biking, we were excited about it. There was also a billiards room, a table tennis, archery set, and more.
The free WIFI here was also fast and reliable, which is important for people like us who need to be online a lot of time.
Lastly, this place is accessible as it’s only about an hour from Manila and it’s also close to a number of restaurants and cafes, including the nearby Talaarawan Cafe and Monstera Cafe and the famous Cafe Agapita in the city proper.
In terms of value for money, GC’s Farmhouse’s rates is a bit steep but if you can afford it, it’s a great option for staycations and even events such as small weddings.
