Affordable and Chic Staycation at Gramercy Residences in Makati

If you love having staycations in Manila, I’m sure you’ve already heard about Gramercy Residences in Makati City. Recently, I booked an overnight stay here with a friend and here’s our experience!

Our experience at Gramercy Residences

Just to give a little background: Gramercy Residences is a high-rise condo in Makati City. Non-unit owners can stay here via booking platforms.

I went here in 2019. I booked a 1-bedroom unit via Zen Rooms. Compared to the Zen Rooms unit I stayed at in Icon Plaza in BGC, this one is smaller but I like it better. It’s cozy and it has a bit more flair.

We have everything we need in the unit: plates and utensils, cookware, towels and bath items. I like the body shower/shampoo as it has a nice herbal scent. The room also comes with free WIFI (which is a necessity for us millennials who can’t have a staycation without announcing it to our friends).

Of course, we actually came here for the IG-worthy pools. My friend Bobby and I went down the unit at about 4:30PM, and at first I was disappointed because the pool was crowded. There was little room for us to take pictures and swim comfortably. Not to mention the fact that mirrorless and DSLRs cameras are not allowed for privacy concerns, so we had to do with the few decent photos we could get.

Thankfully, at past 5PM the guests started leaving so we had the pool mostly to ourselves.

We stayed at the infinity pool, which I’m guessing is 6-7 feet deep. Even though I’m still building up my confidence in water, I actually like that it’s deep because it’s possible to have a proper swim and, anyway, it can even be more tiring if you’re just standing in shallow water. Also, I could open my eyes underwater and it didn’t sting or create red eyes.

At night, LED lights changed the color of the pools from a day-light deep green to blue. I like the pool scene at night.

We didn’t get the chance to try the lap pool which is at 4 feet because by the time we were done swimming in the infinity pool, we already had runny noses.

Overall, I was happy with our pool time. I was initially discouraged by the crowd especially since we were already there on a weekday, but it was a good thing the pool guests eventually left. The infinity pool in Gramercy Residences is moderately sized so a few groups may seem too many. My tip is to go here at past 5PM and early in the morning at about 6-8AM.

As for our overall experience, it was a short time to fully relax but I still enjoyed our overnight stay here at Gramercy Residences. Location wise, it’s easy to get to. The whole building looks classy, there’s good security for unit owners and guests alike and the facilities available for guests are enough especially if you’re staying only for 1-2 nights.

Lastly, I like that Gramercy Residences is located in a busy area in Makati City so dining options are plenty. Gramercy Residences itself is connected to Century Mall (where you can find a branch of Samgyupsalamat) via the 2nd floor and there are other nearby establishments if ever you want to go on food tripping at night.

Hi Michael, I think they are not open for guests yet. But maybe you can inquire directly with any room hosts.
